Kieler Woche, 2008
Just arrived in sunny and windy Kiel-Schilksee Olympic Centre – they have a fancy new building for the Technical Race Office and jury rooms, very nice. Though the rooms for panel hearings are converted containers – might get a bit hot and stuffy with the longer cases!
Am here to work with the Chinese Olympic Sailing Team as a Rules Adviser. The competitors, coaches and interpreters all arrived from China yesterday so they will be tad tired. The Olympic part of the event starts on Wednesday through to Sunday so we have plenty of time to sort out the charter boats and check out the conditions.
We are staying is a great little apartment just down the road 10-15 minutes walking, down Schilksee Stra. Its nice being close so we can walk to the centre in the morning but not too close that the parties – of which there are many – don’t keep us awake!

Hello from Austria, ISAF Match Race, Grade 2
This is the second year that Hard Sailing Club, on the beautiful lake of Konstance, has hoasted this match race event. The club only has some 250 members but what a heart – they worked tirerlessly to put on one of the best match racing shows I’ve seen.
